Actually the new date is a deferal or delay. From http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20090916006067&newsLang=en:

AT&T (NYSE: T) has further delayed its acquisition of regional telecom operator Centennial Communications (Nasdaq: CYCL) which is now expected to conclude in fourth-quarter 2009. The acquisition was originally set to close by second-quarter 2009 but was delayed to third-quarter 2009 in July 2009. The deal is pending regulatory clearances of the Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission and other closing conditions.

@Art V-- Well, since the deal already closed and I made money on it (see the My Completed Deals tab at the top of page), I would say it was a good one. As for FRME stock in general, I have no comment, as I was only it for the M&A arbitrage! Thanks for the comment, cheers.

What do you think of this deal now that most bank stocks, including FRME, are in the toilet?
