Well, looks like I am going to lose on my decision to buy HUN for the short term. They announced the deal was killed today, with Hexion paying break fees to HUN ($750M cash, $250M notes).

Well, the banks are off the hook now (see this article at Marketwatch.com). Looks like Hexion is gonna be in some deep financial straights if it has to pony up all those millions if the deal goes south.

Looks like Hexion and Apollo are now going to try and complete the Huntsman (HUN) deal. At HUN’s current trading price, if the deal goes through at the original buyout price, the ROI is huge.

Deal: $28 cash per share
Target share price: $12
